Time Series

So far we have mostly focused on cross-sectional data, sometimes referred to as “CRM data”. Another important part of the Planhat data model relates to Time Series data.

The following groups fit this category:

  • Default / System Metrics

  • User Activities

  • Custom Metrics

  • Calculated Metrics

Default Metrics

Calculated by the system by default. Examples include “Recurring Base” which aggregates active recurring revenue by Company, or various Metrics of type “Conversation” which track the number of conversations that have occurred, of a certain type.

User Activities

Must relate to the Enduser model and can also relate to any of: Company, Asset, Project. User Activities normally represent actions taken in your product, by an individual Enduser.

Custom Metrics

Also relate to any of the Company, Enduser, Asset, or Project models. The main differences to User Activities, are that they aren’t forced to relate to an Enduser, and they are stored daily, meaning they can be used to represent aggregated data not relating to particular user or activity.

Calculated Metrics

Like User Activities and Custom Metrics, can relate to Companies, Endusers, Assets, and Projects. They are formula based Time Series models which can reference fields on other models, other metrics or user activities, other calculated metrics, and can run a number of common calculations to aggregate data from multiple sources.
