As our Solution Architect, you’ll be the technical voice during the sales cycle and customer’s lifecycle - a trusted partner to our Sales and Customer Success teams, helping design and validate solutions that win deals and set customers up for success.
You’ll focus on owning the technical design of each opportunity - leading technical discovery, building proofs-of-concept, and showing customers how Planhat can bring their data together to power scalable, insightful customer relationships.
You need to be able to show the customer how our product will solve their business problem and then build it out and integrate it successfully.
Lead technical discovery with prospective MSP and IT-services customers - understand business goals, data flows, and integration needs.
Design and present tailored solutions: data mappings, architecture plans, and demonstration environments that bring the value of Planhat to life.
Own and execute proof-of-concepts (POCs) and demo configurations - ensuring we show not just what we can do, but what we will deliver.
Collaborate with Sales and CS to shape winning proposals that balance customer ambition with technical feasibility.
Create and maintain pre-sales collateral - demo environments, integration templates, and documentation that support the sales process.
Partner with delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from pre-sales to implementation, managing expectations and ensuring a clear path to success.
We’re a small, fast-moving team, so expect to roll up your sleeves - some days you’ll be deep in a POC, other days helping ensure a smooth technical delivery. It’s all part of making sure our customers succeed.

You bring:
A technical mindset - comfortable and intrigued when working with data manipulation, integrations, APIs, webhooks, and ETL tools.
Consultative skills - you dig into business problems, translate them into technical solutions, and communicate them clearly.
Experience in pre-sales or solution engineering (bonus, not required).
The ability to balance speed and rigour - you move quickly but ensure deliverables are solid and credible.
A collaboration-first approach - partnering closely with Sales, CS, and delivery to make every deal a success.
3-5 years of experience in a technical or customer facing role.
Bonus: experience handling multi-vendor data or complex integration environments
Bonus: familiarity with the Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and other MSP/OEM architecture
The preferred location for this role is our Malibu office where the majority of our Northern American MSP & IT team is located. Working hours are to be aligned with the US EST or PST timezone.
The OTE for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 per year. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package, other rewards may include long term incentives, a generous PTO policy, and other benefits.
