Flow & configuration
Secure authentication and initial fetch
Authorized users connect Intercom within the App Center to establish the data bridge. Upon activation, Planhat executes a historical fetch to bring relevant past chat threads into the Conversations module as a foundation for account review.
Real-time inbound chat sync
Following the initial fetch, Planhat captures new and updated Intercom chats in near real-time. These interactions are stored as Conversations and enriched with custom labels and properties, ensuring the entire team has visibility into support and feedback streams directly on the Company and End User profiles.
Identity matching and auto-creation
Planhat matches incoming chats to existing records using the End User’s email address. If a chat involves an unrecognized contact from a known customer, Planhat can optionally auto-create the End User record to maintain a complete communication history without manual data entry.
Automated outbound message triggers
Configure Planhat Automations to send Intercom chat-message snippets or campaign snippets when specific criteria are met, such as an End User entering a "low engagement" filter. These messages are delivered instantaneously via Intercom, allowing teams to execute targeted outreach based on Planhat’s centralized customer data.
Matching logic and save rules
To ensure data integrity, a conversation only saves if at least one involved End User has a domain that matches a Related Domain on a Planhat Company record. This prevents internal or unrelated threads from cluttering the commercial system of record.
