Establish connection via App Center
Authorized users connect their own Anthropic account through Custom Connections in the App Center. This "bring-your-own-LLM" model allows builders to link an external AI account and define prompt or chat endpoints tailored to specific commercial use cases.
Configure the Use AI step in Automations
Add a "Use AI" step to any custom Planhat Automation to invoke Claude models like Sonnet. This step passes selected Planhat data—including email threads, call transcripts, or Company fields—into the prompt context, enabling the model to reason over live account context.
Define structured or narrative outputs
Determine how the system handles the model's response by requesting either unstructured narrative text for notes or structured JSON for data updates. Structured output allows the Automation to drive deterministic branching logic or update specific Planhat records based on the AI's analysis.
