Partner-led authentication
The integration is not self-serve and must be activated on-demand by a Planhat Technical Account Manager (TAM). Authorized users must be able to create webhooks and API keys within Gong to establish the data bridge.
Define identity matching rules
Planhat matches incoming Gong calls to customer records using a hierarchical matching model. The system first checks if the CRM ID in Gong matches a Company Source ID in Planhat ; if no match is found, it falls back to matching the email domains of external call participants.
Webhook-driven record creation
The integration functions as a one-way inbound sync from Gong into Planhat via near-instant webhooks. When a call completes in Gong, metadata—including call title, duration, internal users, and matched external participants—is pushed to Planhat and saved as a new Conversation of type "Gong Call".
AI summary and action item retrieval
Following the initial metadata push, Planhat executes a second request to retrieve the Gong AI summary and specific action items. These elements are automatically populated within the Planhat Conversation description, making the reasoning from the call available for immediate follow-through without manual data entry.
Conversation management and reporting
Once call data is ingested, users can open the direct Gong URL from the Planhat record to review recordings or transcripts.
