The benefit of technical expertise

Bianca Ker — So what has been newer for me, but what's been cool is the combination of the CSM and the technical account manager. So I have my CSM, he's not a CSM, but he's my CSM, he's the director of CS. And that's sort of my relationship person. That is the person I hit up. That's the person that gets all my emails, that's the person who's my spoke in the wheel in a sense.

But I think putting all of those skills into one individual, particularly with a platform like Planhat, which unlike Tagger, has a lot of heavy implementation. You can't use Planhat day one and just dive in. It's not giving you any information unless you give it information first.

And so I think that that's so necessary, and it has been a really great experience to not say, 'Hey, let's take someone who is great with people who's a great project manager, who is generally like a jack of all trades, but then let's also require them to be extremely technical, almost like a product manager.'

And so I like that split and I've appreciated it. And then I think additionally, just having a back and forth, I never feel like my request is too big or I never feel like when I'm asking for something is maybe too challenging because it's a complex part of the product and I don't have the expertise or ability, or frankly, bandwidth to always do it.

I do feel like there's a really big receptiveness and there's an acknowledgement that, 'Hey, yeah, this actually is kind of hard. Me and your technical account manager, we'll take this. We'll come back to you. Let's meet. Let's have a chat. Let's see if this works for you. And then let's see if you're capable and able to, on an ongoing basis, update it. We can't do your job for you, but we are there to support you and make sure that you're successful doing your job.'
